The DPSI BMS is the first monitoring and displaying system for batteries used in dual power supplies in large scale models.
For operation, the DPSI BMS is simply put in between current source (e.g. batteries) and consumer (e.g. battery switch).
Turn-on and turn-off works fully automatically, as soon as current flows (equipment turned on) or no current flowa (equipment is turned off).
The DPSI BMS displays all important measuring values in plain text.
Besides battery voltages and current flows of the connected cosumers (minimum / average / actual / maximum values), withdrawn capacity as well as
operating times are displayed.
Due to the manifold information of the DPSI BMS errors in the receiving equipment can be detected.
Rough running rudders or defective servos can be diagnosed by increased current consumption.
Failures in batteries or in the battery switch (e.g. unequal discharge of the batteries) are also uncovered.
As a specialty, both battery circuits in the DPSI BMS are totally galvanically separated from each other!
This means: there is no electrically connection what so ever.
Therefore, a battery for the ignition system and a battery for the receiver set can be connected for models without a battery switch.
Because of the galvanically separation it is possible to use the DPSI BMS in connection with all battery switches available on the
market (e.g. DPSI from EMCOTEC, PMS from Engel, PowerBox from Deutsch and others).
Three PCB's, equipped with most modern electronically parts and allowing for optimally space usage, are integrated into a stabile and shapely
housing.
By using MPX high-current plug connectors, simple exchange of connection cables is possible and maximum flexibility is guaranteed.
Measuring values are sampled by high precision 12 bit A/D converters.
The elaborated design allows for continuous currents of 10 amps pro channel.
Peak currents of up to 30 amps are of no problem, so the DPSI BMS can be utilized in large scale models where many servos are used.
The DPSI BMS is available as 1- and 2-channel version.
The 2-channel version is suitable for models with integrated battery switches, while the 1-channel version is applicable for smaller models with
only one battery or for ignition systems.
Measurement of all parameters of a single servo (e.g. high power servos in drones or large scale models) is possible with the low priced 1-channel
version.
The DPSI BMS (like the DPSI BIC) is delivered with detailed operating instructions and miscellaneous accessories inside a plastic
case.
