LongGo Lithium Polymer receiver batteries "Normal"

LongGo batteries based on lithium polymer are made from select, matched lithium polymer cells (LiPo). The (per utility patented) type of battery fabrication ensures maximum service life and safety as well as the greatest convenience when fastening. Ready-made screw down points with rubber bushings (similar to a servo) ensures an elastic, vibration-reducing suspension. For fastening, the batteries are screwed to a small wood block with 3 or 4 screws - and that's it.

The LongGo batteries of the "Serie 2005" series carry a connection cable of approximately 30 cm (12 inch) in length to connect to DPSI systems (RV, TWIN, LR, BIC). An other MPX high current connector which is mounted on the PCB (printed circuit board) serves as charging connector. An extra feature is the exposed center tab of both cells which is connected to the outer pins of the MPX connector. Each cell can now be measured individually and the battery can be charged by the "balancer charging cable". This provides for highest reliability and lifetime even after many charging cycles. All LongGo batteries can be charged with 1C within 90 minutes! Recharge on the air field therefore poses no problem.

LongGo batteries can be connected in parallel for charging! This means to connect a V-cable to the chargers output. Each end of the V-cable is then connected to the charging connector of the LongGo batteries. For both LongGo batteries, the positive and the negative poles are connected by the V-cable. This is possible, because LongGo batteries are always equally discharged by the DPSI. Therefore the voltage of both cells is always identical. Furthermore, LiPo batteries exhibit a charging characteristic curve which allows for this kind of charging. The charging current can be doubled in this particular case (because 2 cells have identical voltages but doubled capacity when in parallel). The chosen number of 2 cells (i.e. 7.4 volts nominal voltage respectively 8.4 volts charging voltage) stays always the same. When charging in parallel, using the LONGOO balancer charging cable is not possible.

Technical Data of the LongGo receiver batteries:

 LongGo 3300 "N"    7.4 volts  3.3 amps/h    6.2 oz    6 amps  13 amps  5.8  2.6  0.5
 LongGo 4000 "N"*    7.4 volts  4.0 amps/h    8.0 oz  15 amps  30 amps  5.8  2.6  0.75

* LongGo 4000 "N" with redundant cells in the configuration 2S2P for even more safety!

Peak current: current for a maximum of 5 seconds. When using batteries with the DPSI RV / TWIN / BIC systems the maximum possible current in the total system doubles because 2 batteries are always connected to the DPSI RV / TWIN / BIC. The current suffices for receiver sets in any case, because even for many digital servos the average current does not exceed 5 amps (15 digital servos) up to 8 amps (24 digital servos).

Additional information about LongGo batteries:

  • Use only with DPSI family (RV, TWIN, LR, BIC) when used as receiver power supply
  • Use only chargers released by EMCOTEC GmbH/li>
  • Observe charging current (1C max.) and charging voltage (number of cells = 2).
  • Observe maximum current load capability of the batteries.
  • Protect against mechanical force (squeezing, push, bend, drill)
  • Do not open or cut the batteries in any case, do not throw in fire, keep away from children
  • Do not short cut the battery in any case
  • Do not discharge the receiver battery below 5.0 volts (2.5 volts/cell) otherwise they are definitively damaged! Charge already at 6.0 volts
  • Do not operate the batteries below -5°C (23 degree Fahrenheit). Capacity decreases dramatically below freezing point!
  • Protect batteries from heat (mount far away from hot parts like muffler)
  • Before storing (e.g. winter) charge the batteries - don't store when discharged!
  • Do not leave the batteries unattended during charging
  • In case of fire with LiPo batteries involved (e.g. crashed burning jet), NEVER extinguish using water, but use powder extinguisher instead!
Due to the high energy density (up to 190Wh/kg), the cells are not harmless and require special care! EMCOTEC GmbH shall therefore assume absolutely no liability for damages that arise from incorrect handling of the lithium polymer cells.
