Datalogger & Telemetry

We are especially proud to offer exclusively the powerful products from Eagle Tree Systems for Germany and Austria. Herewith, our delivery spectrum is enlarged by additional highly interesting products. The field of telemetry is now affordable even for the hobby pilot with the low cost Eagle Tree products. Many systems are available. Besides recording of model relevant data (e.g. flight velocity, RPM, current, voltage, servo pulse monitoring, temperature, g-forces, GPS coordinates), they also allow for radio transmission of this data to a ground station. Memory depth, as well as a fast sample rate of the parameter allows for a precise reconstruction of the values at the home based PC (or Notebook). As interface serves the USB-port of the PC - simply connect, readout of the data is done by software. Representation of the data is possible in various types (graphical, in text or both).

Micropower E-Logger

*** NEW *** The Micropower E-Logger is the smallest version of the Eagle Tree data logger series and scores due to unbelievable price-performance ratio. The Micropower E-Logger stores all important parameters of electrical drives in internal memory. It is simply inserted between the battery and the ESC or BEC and stores currents up to 100 amps and voltages up to 45 volts operating at a sample rate of up to 10 samples/second. Additionally, RPM and temperatures can be recorded using low cost sensors. Micropower E-Logger weighs only 0.7 oz! Data is stored in non volatile memory and can be read after flight on a PC via an USB-cable. Recording is done by an compressing algorithm which saves the data without loss. Memory is optimally used through that compression. Connecting to the PC via the USB-port also allows for firmware updates. Simply download the newest software from internet and install! Herewith, the Micropower E-Logger update state is maintained at any given time.
In near future, there will be a small and light weight PowerPanel LC-Display available, which displays the measured values directly. Storing of the data continues. Micropower E-Logger is delivered with all accessories for recording and presentation of voltage/current (data logger, USB-cable, CD with software, operation manual).

Recording Capabilities of the Micropower E-Logger

 Motor Voltage  5 - 45 volts (0.1 volts resolution)
 Motor RPM  100 - 50000 RPM
Temperatur  up to 424 degree F
Sample Rate  1 - 10 samples per second (programable)

The software allows for presentation of the data in a diagram. Axes can be arranged individually - this allows for prsentation of voltage versus current. It is also possible to save the data in Excel format. Herewith, further processing of the data can be done in Excel.

The easy to use PC-software is able to display all data graphically and or numerically. The layout of the screen representation is freely selectable.

FlightDataRecorder FDR2

The FlightDataRecorder FDR2 saves all kind of data in real time in internal memory (up to 16 different values). Depending on the connected sensor types, current, voltage, RPM, temperature, velocity, height, acceleration and even GPS coordinates can be recorded. Furthermore, servo pulses of up to 4 servos can be saved during the flight. The recorded data can be either displayed on the PC in live mode (e.g. on the workbench) or read out from memory after flight. A simple USB interface suffices. All important items are included in the delivery package: flight data recorder, USB cable, pitot tube with hoses, temperatur sensor, RPM sensor with 4 magnets, 4 pieces of Y-cable, Windows software and an operation manual.

The FlightDataRecorder FDR2 is optionally extendible by an radio module which transmits the data directly to a ground station (SEAGULL Wireless Dashboard).

Recording Capabilities of the FDR2

 Measuring Parameter  Range
 Flight Velocity  10 - 300Miles/h
 Height  max. 25000 feet
 GPS coordinates  optionally deliverable
Servo Positions  Position and disturbance pulses for 4 channels
Temperature  up to 420°F (1 sensor delivered, 1 more optional)
 RPM  100 - 40000 RPM

Furthermore optionally deliverable:
- Extern Adapter (for external operation and display of the FDR2, mounting e.g. at the sidewall of fuselage)
- Adapter for supply/recording of own analogue data (in the range 0 volts to 4 volts)

Scope of delivery of the FlightDataRecorder FDR2. Besides the data logger and the software, sensors are delivered for recording the flight velocity & flight height, RPM, temperature as well as monitoring of up to 4 servo channels (via Y-cables).

Optional sensors allow for recording of additional temperatures (e.g. exhaust temperature - also for turbines) g-forces, current and voltage (electric motor) as well as GPS coordinates.

The software allows for manifold representation of the recorded data. The display is individually configurable. Different profiles can be established and saved.

FlightDataRecorder PRO

The FlightDataRecorder PRO is an extended version of the FDR2 and differs in higher memory size and resolution / accuracy for flight velocity and flight height. The PRO version can store more data at a higher sample rate over a longer time. Delivery covers additional accessory items for more accurate velocity and height measurements.

Seagull Wireless Dashboard Telemetry System

The Seagull Wireless Dashboard Telemetry System extends the flight data recorder with the possibility to transmit the recorded data directly via radio to a ground station. A small transmitting module (433MHz with CE certification for the European area) is to be mounted into the model. The dashboard (receiver with LC-display) can be mounted to the radio control transmitter console and read during flight. The dashboard is configured using the PC (via the USB-port). The user can select which information should be displayed on the dashboard. There are 4 different views available by pushing a button, all views are configurable. Due to this flexibility, all data which is relevant for a particular model can be read.

Diverse sensors allow for recording of all relevant data (FDR2 and FDR PRO). All of this data can be transmitted to a "ground station". The dashboard can be connected to a PC during operation, too. In life mode, all data is directly readable from the PC's monitor (e.g. the GPS coordinates of the model when using a GPS sensor).

Besides upgrading the Seagull Wireless Dashboard Telemetry System, complete sets can be delivered which contain the data logger together with all accessory items.
